Buasri takes season-best qualifying as Junior Talent Team prepare for MotorLand battle

07 October 2023

The Thai rider will head the third row with Shahril, O’Shea, and Aditama all featuring in Q2

Tatchakorn Buasri bagged 7th place in Saturday’s qualifying session at MotorLand Aragon for the sixth round of the 2023 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship. The Thai rider heads the Junior Talent Team charge from the front of row three after his 1:59.183 saw him miss out on the top 5 by just 0.067s.

It’s always a close affair in the FIM JuniorGP™ – Danial Shahril was just – 0.390s back from his teammate as he took the 12th spot on the grid. Starting from the edge of the fourth row, the Malaysian will be set up with the ideal line into Turn 1 when the lights go out on Sunday.

Eddie O’Shea grabbed 14th place in Q2 after topping the session in Q1. The Brit put down a 1:59.656 in Q2, which despite being two-tenths slower than his Q1 time, earned him a top 14 qualifying result as he’s set to start from the middle of row five. The #8’s Q1 flyer would have been enough for the top ten had he replicated it in Q2.

Fresh from his debut victory last time out in Barcelona, Fadillah Arbi Aditama also fought his way through Q1 to ensure all JTT riders featured in Q2. The Indonesian, who made history for his country just under three months ago by winning his first race in the class, will start from the front of the sixth row in 16th.

Next up for the JTT riders is race day at MotorLand Aragon. 14 laps of the Spanish circuit await for their one and only race on Sunday. The action is set to kick off at 13:00 local time (GMT +2).
