First stop Misano! Junior Talent Team ready for Round 1

17 April 2024

The JTT gear up for the Motor Valley and Emilia Romagna round as the 2024 FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship kicks off in Italy

The Junior Talent Team are suited and booted for the first round of 2024, with the iconic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli ready to host the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship for a standalone round for the first time. There are two races for the JTT to attack, offering plenty of opportunity to maximise their points, hone their skills and gain some all-important experience on the Road to MotoGP™.
Malaysian Danial Shahril heads in with high expectations after two years spent learning the ropes, with a best result of seventh so far but plenty of points finishes under his belt. He’ll want to start homing in on podiums in 2024 though and Misano is his first chance, or pair of chances.
Fellow veteran Arbi Aditama, meanwhile, will have to be a little more patient to get going in 2024 as the Indonesian recovers from a training injury. Newcomers Amon Odaki and Jakkreephat Phuettisan, fresh from impressing in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, will therefore have Shahril as their key reference as their new adventures begin.
Odaki was the runner up in the 2023 ATC and he arrived with a bang as a rookie the year before, winning in his very first round. He’ll be looking to make an impact in the JTT lineup from the off, too. Phuettisan is another with race-winning experience in the ATC and he’ll likewise want to show his prowess from the off as he and Odaki begin their new adventure.
They’ll also have a wildcard rookie entry alongside them: Zen Mitani. The Japanese rider, who currently leads the 2024 ATC standings, will race with the JTT at Misano to gain some valuable experience. With three riders in the box all making their debuts, there’ll be plenty of competition in the JTT and against the rest of the field as action opens for 2024.
Tune in for Round 1 this weekend, with lights out for Race 1 for the JuniorGP™ category at 11:00 (UTC +2) before Race 2 at 14:00.
