Aditama to make Moto3™ debut in Indonesia

09 October 2023

The Indonesian rider will make his first Grand Prix appearance on home turf in Lombok

Arbi Aditama will make his Moto3™ World Championship debut this weekend! The Indonesian rider, currently competing as part of the Junior Talent Team in the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship and in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, will make his Grand Prix debut at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia with Honda Team Asia.

Aditama’s Road to MotoGP™ began in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, where he showed speed from the start. That earned a place in the Junior Talent Team to contest JuniorGP™ in 2022, as well as a promotion to the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup as Dorna’s selected rider the same year.

Aditama already has top five finishes in the Rookies, and his rookie JTT campaign last year culminated in the crescendo of his first top ten finish. He then made history as the first ever Indonesian race winner in JuniorGP™ with victory in Race 2 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya earlier in 2023.

Aditama will now add the Moto3™ World Championship to his CV, making his debut as part of an expanded three-rider Honda Team Asia line-up at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia!

ARBI ADITAMA: “I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity to race in the Indonesian GP at Mandalika in the World Championship. Even though this is my first experience, I will try to show my best potential, especially as I am encouraged and witnessed directly by the Indonesian people!

“Thanks Astra Honda for the support and opportunity. I will make the best use of all the skills I have, including racing experience in JuniorGP.”

HIROSHI AOYAMA, HONDA TEAM ASIA: “We’re happy to announce that Astra Honda Rider, Arbi Aditama, will do a wild card in Mandalika. He has been participating in the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP World Championship, achieving a superb victory in the round at Catalunya.

This will be his first participation in the World Championship. So, it’s going to be a brand-new experience for him. Also, he will do it on his home GP. That means his expectations and that of his fans will be high!

“I’m happy to bring him this opportunity, and I want him to get an excellent experience to help in his career. I hope he will enjoy this weekend.”
