Last call: Junior Talent Team ready for the season finale

7 Nov 2019

Two races of 2019 remain, with Valencia playing host

Wins, podiums, points and progress characterise 2019 for the Junior Talent Team so far and heading into the season finale at Valencia there are two more chances to add to all of those. 50 points remain in play in the final two races and the Junior Talent Team will be racing hard to end the year on a high.

For Yuki Kunii, it’s a swan song in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship. The Japanese rider was the early season leader before injury troubles derailed his title fight, but he’ll be back on track for two more races before he graduates to the Moto3™ World Championship and his aim is clear: win. He was victorious in the first race and second in the second on the FIM CEV’s first visit to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo earlier this season, so he’s got good form at the venue.

For Haruki Noguchi, the last two races of the year present another important challenge: raking in enough points to get into the top ten in the overall standings. No mean feat in a rookie year, but one the Japanese rider deserves after some impressive rides. Indonesian Mario Aji will also be aiming to take a good haul of points – and close out the season on a high. A fourth place is his best so far.

Max Cook, meanwhile, arrives into the season finale with a good few finishes and some impressive progress, but he’s not taken points for a few races so the last two of the year will see him aiming firmly for the top fifteen. And Billy Van Eerde, after leaps forward in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, has two more races to aim for some points. The young Australian has been making progress despite a challenging season, and there’s plenty time left to score in an incredibly deep field of competitors.

After another stunning season, it’s time to saddle up for the final two races of the year and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo is the perfect stage for it. Can the JTT take a few more spoils to round out the season? Find out in Race 1 for Moto3™ at 11:00 (GMT +1), before the final showdown at 14:00.
