After running at the front at Estoril, the Junior Talent Team is ready to roll for Round 2
It’s time for the engines to fire up for Round 2 of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship, with the paddock moving back from Portugal to Valencia and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. A natural amphitheater with incredible visibility for fans, the arena of Cheste will be another exciting weekend on two wheels.
Heading into the contest, the Junior Talent Team have some good pace shown at Estoril and will be aiming for the front once again. Yuki Kunii came fourth and will now be pushing for the podium, as will fellow Asia Talent Team rider Ai Ogura, who is a former race winner and will want to get some points on the board after a crash out of contention in Portugal.
Likewise, Tom Booth-Amos, representing the British Talent Team showed some serious speed at Estoril – fighting at the front and for victory for much of the race before also sadly taking a tumble. Valencia? A track he’s raced before, and the added experience is sure to add to the weekend.
Somkiat Chantra and Gerry Salim are also eager to get back on track, the former having taken solid points scoring finish to begin his sophomore campaign and Salim looking to bounce back from a difficult weekend. Now, there are two forays on track at Valencia, with Moto3™ racing twice.
Last year, Ai Ogura and Yuki Kunii both took good finishes at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Now it’s time to fire up the engines for another race weekend at the classic venue, with everything to play for on Sunday 29th April.
